The construction of Takasaki Arena started during fiscal year 2014 and it is scheduled to be completed by August 2016 for a cost close to 10.9 billion yen.

The purpose of this 1,3145m², 3-story building will be to serve as a venue for major sports events and competitions, including as a training center for the upcoming 2020 Olympics, and as a live venue for concerts. Takasaki Arena will be conveniently located a 7 minute walk from JR Takasaki Station. A large number of hotels, restaurants, and shops are located within walking distance.

Where can I stay?

Accommodation booking are part of the registration process. Our partner travel agency has booked most of the hotels in Takasaki but room allocation will be on first come, first served basis. Should number of participants exceed the number of rooms, the travel agency will book additional rooms.

Takasaki offers a very wide range of cultural experiences. you can start by watching the video we made to introduce the city. We will also start posting specific articles about the region's highlights as we get closer to the date of the congress.

Who are the instructors who will lead the classes?

Classes will be instructed with many of the world's top Aikido instructors from Japan and abroad. You can learn more about them in the instructor's section and you can find out who teaches when in the events section (coming soon). More information will be added as we finalize the schedule.

How can I get to Takasaki from Tokyo or Narita Airport?

We have prepared a document describing the main routes of access. You may also find alternative routes via Google Maps.

What is the schedule of the week?

We will publish a detailed schedule of the week's events soon but keep in mind that this is only for information purpose and that events may be changed according to requirements and/or unforeseen circumstances.
